Consultative workshop on SRH service Gaps held

CORHA in partnership with the financial support of the GIDABO policy advocacy centre started implementing a project called " Enhance equity and sustainability for SRH services in Low-performing regions." the project aims to improve SRH equity gaps and contribute to the achievement of the goals of the National Health Equity strategic plan (2021-2025), National RH strategy (2021-2025) and the government's commitments to UHC 2030. With the attendance of the regional health bureau representatives, the Federal Ministry of Health MNCH Department heads and experts as well as representatives of Local and international Civil Societies the consultation workshop was an opportunity to introduce the project for implementation regions and governmental and non-governmental concerned bodies and to discuss on the gaps and status of the project implementation areas.

high-level Technical Dialogue Family planning and Women and Girls Decision Making Ability

CORHA in collaboration with Ministry of Health, Ethiopia , Spanish Cooperation and UNFPA Ethiopia organized a high-level Technical Dialogue Family planning and Women and Girls Decision Making Ability. As Dr Meseret Zelalem Lead Executive officer, MCA-H in Ministry of Health Ethiopia marked on her opening speech, Ethiopia is achieving different remarkable success regarding Family planning, increasing the access to contraceptive commodities, Decreasing the infant and maternity death as well as Sexual and reproductive Health. She also mentioned that the government commitment regarding these achievements must be appreciated specially on financing and allocating budget for sexual and reproductive Health. But Sexual and Reproductive Health and improving the decision-making ability of women and girls is more than health, it needs to work on empowering women in all concerns like political, social and economic aspects. The performance of Family planning program at the national level, the family planning service performance and gaps /challenges and the FP commodities supply management and gaps and challenges presented by the ministry of health at the technical dialogue and there is also a panel discussion session going on which discuss on FP program contribution from stockholders on the demand and supply accessibility availability of family planning for women and girls. This Technical Dialogue also create an opportunity for some member organizations of CORHA to show case there works on the side exhibition event.

The Ethiopian Government and development partners have signed a three-year long additional 36 million USD budget agreements called COMPACT.

Mr. Abebe Kebede had a discussion with the United States of America Congress members

Mr. Abebe Kebede who is the Executive Director of Consortium of Reproductive Health Association had a meeting with five of the USA representatives; The United States House of Representatives is the lower chamber of the United States Congress, with the Senate being the upper chamber. Together, they comprise the national bicameral legislature of the United States. On his Work visit to Washington DC, beside other meetings and activities organized by PAI, Mr. Abebe Kebede had an opportunity to discuss with four US representatives of the congress.

CORHA's Five years strategic plan

CORHA's Five years strategic plan is validated among its members today. The draft strategic plan was presented to the member organization representatives who attended the workshop by the consultant. The workshop was an opportunity for CORHA to discuss the strength and weaknesses of the draft strategic plan as well as to collect inputs from its member organizations. 32 representatives of different member organisations attended the validation workshop held today at Inter luxury hotel.
